What have we been up to?

It's been awhile since I've posted an update about what's been going on with the Rezas. Well...as of the first week of August I returned to work a month ahead of schedule. A wonderful opportunity presented itself to me through a little angel named Laura and I just couldn't pass it up. Needless to say we had a lot of scrambling to do in order to execute the big return to work. Audrey was set to stay with her Grandma & Grandpa Reza 2 days a week but the other days were not covered. We are so fortunate to have found a family day care that is about 5 minutes from our house and Audrey really enjoys it there. She is one of 4 little ones that spend the day there and she is doing great!

I started doing some hours at a private practice much closer to my house than my previous job and it is really ideal for having a baby at home. I get to stay in one location and the clients come to me, which is different from my previous jobs where I was always going to get clients out of class, etc. I work with a wonderful group of people and we special in working with children with Autism and it is just amazing. I have learned so much in such a short period of time.

Meanwhile, Audrey had her 4 month appointment on August 10th and she is doing fabulous. She is 16 lbs. 5 oz. and measured 25 1/2 in. That puts her in the 94th & 89th percentiles respectively. She's definitely a healthy baby girl! Marcos was able to meet me for the appointment which I had to leave early (for work, bad planning on my part!) and he had to be the one to console her after her shots. As the story goes she cried when she was first pricked by the needle but as soon as he picked her up she was totally fine and stopped crying. She definitely loves her Daddy. He's the one who picks her up from day care or after spending the day at her grandparents and he is already a hero in her eyes! :)

As the summer quickly comes to a close here are some photos from recent weeks. Enjoy!

Mommy & Daddy had a night out....all of the Reza cousins got together for a little reunion, good times!

Audrey with her favorite accessory, her Graco car seat! Happy Baby!

Check out that mop....this was after a bath I think! She is holding onto her teething doll from Grandma Pat....you soak the ends in water and then toss it in the freezer for a few minutes and instant relief for baby! She's not quite teething yet but enjoys sucking on the doll. :)

Enjoying her exersaucer!

All smiles after a bath and getting burped! Silly girl!!

Audrey's First Photo Shoot with Ribbitt Creations

On July 31st Audrey and I had the privilege of getting together with my good friend and MFT colleague, Tasha Dixon, to take Audrey's "3 month pictures" even though she was almost 4 months old. We had a great time, I broke a sweat trying to keep her smiling for the camera and changing her into a bunch of different outfits. Needless to say she did a great job and so did Tasha! Check out her beautiful pictures below and also the link to Tasha's photo blog. Anyone that is interested in having a photo session with Tasha check her out or let me know. We can't wait to take Audrey's 6 month pictures with Tasha...gees, it will be here before we know it!!

16 weeks and counting!

It's so hard to believe that Audrey will be 4 months old one week from today. Where has the time gone? Audrey continues to be doing great, she started another feeding schedule and now has her last feeding at 8:00pm and most nights she is back in bed at 8:45 and sleeps until 6:00am. One of Marcos and my favorite things is to go into her room when it's time to wake her up because when she sees us she gets the biggest smile on her face. It is so sweet and melts your heart!

Let's see, what has she been up to in the past few weeks...

Audrey has mastered the half roll-over. She gets herself secure on either her right or left side and is perfectly content staying there with no intention of rolling all the way over onto her tummy. I am convinced that this is because she is not such a fan of tummy time and therefore would not purposely put herself on her tummy. She giggles and screams when she is really excited and makes all sorts of other sounds when she's "talking" to us. She is definitely more aware of her surroundings and when in a new setting she usually quietly observes and takes it all in as best she can.

Here are some pics from the past few weeks:

12 weeks old!

Audrey turned 12 weeks old this week. She hit this milestone and has really started showing off some new talents as she nears the 3 month mark. She's "talking" all of the time and lets us know when it's time to go back down for a nap with some pretty clear cues. We dropped the late night feeding as well so she now eats at 9:00 pm and goes to bed after that until 6:00 am. She is also going down really well most of the time for her daytime naps as well. Here is a fun sequence of pics from Tuesday when she turned 12 weeks old. Hope everyone has a great 4th of July weekend!!!

11 weeks old!

On June 8th Audrey had her appointment for her first set of immunizations and she did great! She was not too fussy and overall it wasn't too traumatizing for either one of us! At that appointment she weighed 11 lbs., 15 oz. and measured 23 in. in length, she's growing so fast!! The past few weeks have been pretty busy meeting new friends, Laker playoffs and celebrating Father's Day. Here are some pics from recent events:

7 weeks old & Happy Birthday to Me!!

It's been a busy couple of weeks and I am finally getting a chance to update you all on how little Miss Audrey is doing. It is amazing how quickly things change! When she is awake she is so much more alert, follows things with her eyes, and if she's in a new environment she is studying all of it's details. She is also cooing and smiling and making so many other noises in response to us talking to her or even without being provoked at all. Her favorite thing is to laugh at us when we realize what little (or big!) present she has left for us when we take her to the changing table.

Yesterday was my birthday and Audrey's gift to me the last few nights has been to sleep for 6-7 hours! She is doing great and I am a very proud Momma! Yesterday was also Audrey's first night at a sushi restaurant and she did great...it was a little run through for Marcos and I to see how she'd do (and how we'd do for that matter) in a restaurant. She definitely demonstrated her restaurant manners for us. :) Tonight we are going to dinner with my parents and my sister, Julia, so we'll see if she enjoys an Italian restaurant as much as a sushi restaurant. :) After dinner we went to the Farmers Market that they have by our house which was a lot of fun. We ran into one of our old boot camp instructors, Darren, who also works for Upland PD. Last time he saw us he was getting us in shape for our wedding so it was fun to get to introduce him to Audrey.

Below are some pics from the past two weeks in chronological order. (That's my OCD for ya!) Enjoy!!

Showing off one of her outfits from "across the pond" - a gift from our old neighbors (The Smiths) who now live in England.

Meeting her first girlfriend, Kaitlyn Mackenzie - her daddy, Matt, was best man at our wedding.

Mommy and Audrey showing their Laker pride (so what if her shirt is too big and mine is a smidge too tight thanks to breastfeeding, haha!!)

I love hanging out with Grandma and getting a bottle too! :)

Exhausted Daddy and Audrey!

First time falling asleep in her swing. Ok, so it's starting to freak me out a little how much Audrey looks like I did in pictures from when I was a baby. We will be down at my parents house this weekend and I will try to find some pics to scan to show the similarities.

Hanging out poolside with my Great Grandma - Lita!! :)

Last day at our Moms' Group - we're still working on the group picture thing and getting Audrey to look towards the camera. The boys in the pic are about 10 weeks old and the other baby girl (second from the left) was born 2 days after Audrey.

In case I lose track of time when Audrey is napping she is so thoughtful to rotate around in her bassinet to let me know what time it is. In this picture she is demonstrating 12:00.

And here she has rotated to 3:00 - time to get up and eat again! What a smart girl, huh?!? :)

Heading out the door but she had a major case of bed head so we had to rinse her hair out first. See the curls when it's still wet? She looks like a different baby to me when her head is wet!
